Job description

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Software Engineer with over 10+ years of experience in software development, application support, troubleshooting, project management, and client service within the Banking domain. The ideal candidate will be adept at resolving complex issues, managing cross-functional teams, and enhancing system performance, all while ensuring business continuity and application stability.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver L2/L3 application support across critical systems in the BFSI/Investment Banking domain.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for supported applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and root cause analysis.
  • Lead incident review meetings, toil reduction initiatives, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Coordinate with front-office and back-office stakeholders to resolve production issues and implement enhancements.
  • Monitor batch processes using scheduling tools like Autosys and Control-M, taking proactive measures in case of failures.
  • Manage and execute application releases, post-deployment validations, and maintenance activities.
  • Set up and maintain production alerts using tools like ITRS Geneos and internal monitoring platforms.
  • Automate manual tasks and health checks using shell scripting and automation platforms such as AaaS and HPOO.
  • Contribute to performance improvement strategies and ensure SLA adherence.
  • Prepare regular status reports and dashboards for clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in application support, production troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix Shell Scripting.
  • Strong experience in job schedulers like Autosys and Control-M.
  • Experience with incident management and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and Remedy.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and automation tools like ITRS Geneos, Fabric, HPOO, and AaaS.
  • Familiarity with web servers like Apache-TOMCAT and reporting tools like Cognos.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and improve production stability.
