The Company


We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to support our client, a global consulting firm, in transforming legacy systems into modern, cloud-native, container-ready services. In this role, you'll be hands-on with refactoring efforts, breaking down monoliths, containerizing applications, and integrating observability tools, while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. This is a great opportunity for engineers passionate about clean code, scalable architectures, and modern DevOps practices.

This is a 12-month project with potential of extension.


The Role

• Refactor legacy applications: decouple monolithic components, externalize state, and remove tight interdependencies.
• Create Dockerfiles, health checks, and deployment specs using Helm or Docker Compose.
• Implement OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to stub external services and build reusable test fixtures.
• Ensure refactored services are production-ready, observable, and CI/CD-compliant.

Your Profile

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
• 5-8 years of full-stack development experience with Java, .NET, or Node.js
• 2+ years working with containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven experience breaking down monoliths into microservices or mini-services.
• Strong understanding of REST/gRPC APIs, relational databases, and message queues such as Kafka or AWS SQS.
• Familiar with CI/CD workflows and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred) is advantageous.
