Mobbin Pte. Ltd. is hiring a software engineer to build core Mobbin platform features and internal tools.

You will own substantial frontend work while also developing scalable backend logic for millions of users. The team emphasizes stable, modern technologies and strong collaboration with designers and other domains. You will write maintainable code, participate in architecture decisions, and mentor peers to uphold high engineering standards.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience building user-facing production-scale web apps in React.
• Strong CS fundamentals and ability to write recursive functions.
• Experience with strongly typed languages and modern frontend tooling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build features across the stack.
• Plan and implement high-quality, scalable software with tests and documentation with minimal supervision.
• Clearly justify technical decisions and trade-offs to peers for buy-in.

The role

We are hiring a software engineer to join our team working on the core Mobbin platform and/or our internal tools.

As a software engineer at Mobbin, you will be building high-impact features across the stack while owning multiple systems. Though the bulk of the work is front-end heavy, you’ll also need to write maintainable backend logic that scales to millions of users.

Our Engineering Department, while small, provides the technological capability that turns our ideas into software that drives global impact at scale. We take great care to balance the need for stable technologies, yet exercise tact in choosing cutting-edge technologies that pay forward to our long-term goals.

What you'll do...

• Build features across the stack.

• Plan and implement high-quality and provably reliable software that scales, including writing tests and documentation with close to no supervision.

• Clearly propose and articulate your technical decisions and the trade-offs incurred. You will need to get buy-in from fellow engineers and build rapport with them.

• Work closely with team members of other domains (for example, designers, curators, etc.) to drive decisions while balancing engineering and business needs. For example, collaborating extensively with designers to refine and polish a feature iteratively.

• Distill engineering solutions from high-level requirements. For example, taking initiative to seek clarifications and fill in the gaps given a high-level requirement for a new feature.

• Leave our codebase and infrastructure better than you found it. For example, by identifying areas of the codebase that can use improvements and executing on suggestions for better developer experience, performance, or otherwise.

• Mentor and guide team members in best practices and technical skills. Perpetuate a healthy software engineering culture through code reviews, sharing, or otherwise.

You should...

• Have a high bar for code quality. Be familiar with software engineering best practices and be able to write clean, reliable, and well-documented code with minimal supervision.

• Believe that documentation, communication, and measuring feature success are part of shipping.

• Have significant experience working with strongly typed languages.

• Be highly proficient in frontend technologies.

• Be moderately proficient in Postgres and SQL. You will be working intimately with Postgres and Supabase.

• Have strong computer science fundamentals. You will not pass our technical round if you can barely write a recursive function.

• Have at least 2 years of professional experience building user-facing production-scale web apps in React.

• Be able to communicate effectively and have good written communication skills.

• Have a strong desire to learn and adapt by embracing feedback and seeking growth opportunities.
