Software Engineer

Role Pitch

We are looking for energetic, passionate, and engaged Software Engineers to join our Manila-based development team, helping to define, build, maintain, and support our customer's initial and ongoing experience.

The Software Engineer works closely with peers, customers, and stakeholders globally and across functions, utilizing analytical skills and collaboration tools to deliver customer requirements and support the smooth utilization of the CloudPay platform worldwide. They are experienced in software development and will leverage this experience to develop solutions that maximize business value for the end customer.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily duties and main responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing requirements, designing technically, and implementing new capabilities within the platform
• Providing technical support for existing functionalities in the production environment
• Upholding code standards and best practices through code reviews, refactoring, and peer mentoring
• Identifying and resolving issues related to code/solution quality, functionality, or other problems in both technical and business domains
• Documenting new or updated functionalities upon release
• Participating actively in all aspects of the agile process and ceremonies to deliver usable functionality

Description Attributes and Experience Required

Essential:

• Good team player
• Strong working knowledge of Java 17 and Spring Boot framework
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular, Vue, or React
• Experience working with relational databases like MySQL
• Experience with Maven, Bamboo, Git, JIRA, and Bitbucket
• Experience with application performance tuning
• Excellent logical, analytical skills, and attention to detail
• Self-starter, able to own, prioritize, and plan workloads
• Flexibility to work within tight deadlines to meet release schedules

Desirable:

• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Familiarity with TDD and pair programming
• Knowledge of clean code principles
• Background in Payroll, HR, or other financial domains
• Continuous learning of new skills or technologies
