Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for a Quality Control Inspector to manage quality functions for water treatment EPC projects. This role involves detailed inspections, preparing test documents, and liaising with vendors to ensure standards are met. Candidates should have a degree in Engineering, at least 3 years of QC experience, and certifications in welding inspections. Qualifications

Overview

To perform Quality Control functions in terms of Material Receiving, Label Control, Storage, Distribution and Testing for water treatment EPC projects, including civil work, tankage, piping, steel structures, pumps, electrical, and instrument equipment & devices.

Responsibilities
  • To perform Quality Control functions in terms of Material Receiving, Label Control, Storage, Distribution and Testing for water treatment EPC projects, including civil work, tankage, piping, steel structures, pumps, electrical, and instrument equipment & devices.
  • To prepare test package documents and submit to QC Manager for review.
  • Organize, verify, and certify the welding procedures qualification tests and welders’ performance qualification tests.
  • Brief Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) requirements, repair method and welding sequences to welders.
  • Check for welding joint preparations, fit-up alignment, dimensional tolerances, visual check and x ray check.
  • Review clients’ specifications and scopes of work and prepare detailed NDT procedures.
  • Liaise with NDT vendors on the tests to conduct and follow up to address any failures till proper closure with reports.
  • To inspect Vendor’s shop facilities and work-sites for fabricated pipes, steel structure, blasting, painting works, galvanizing or other installation works per ASME and ANSI codes and verify tests at their premises.
  • Involve in plant testing and commissioning and address quality issues with rectification arrangement.
  • To prepare and compile inspection reports and quality control reports for submission to client after internal review.
  • To ensure smooth handover of the plant to clients with quality.
  • Other ad-hoc assignments.
Qualifications
