Software Development Manager

Job Description

The impact you’ll make:

• Drive end-to-end delivery of a multi-tenant SaaS platform used by enterprise clients worldwide.
• Lead, mentor, and unblock a small cross-functional team of engineers (Singapore + offshore), stepping into the codebase whenever deep dives or critical fixes are required.
• Own architecture decisions across Python micro-services, React front-end, Kubernetes/K3s orchestration, and PostgreSQL—balancing scalability, reliability, and cost.
• Champion CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or similar) and Scrumban workflows in JIRA to keep releases fast, traceable, and low-risk.
Foster an engineering culture of clean code, automated testing, observability, security-by-design, and adherence to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles

Requirements

What you bring:

• 5 + years building and shipping enterprise SaaS, with 2 + years in a lead or manager capacity.
• Production expertise in Python, React/TypeScript, Kubernetes/K3s, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native patterns (12-factor, service mesh, immutable infrastructure, GitOps, autoscaling).
• Proven ability to manage geographically distributed engineers, set clear OKRs, and conduct pragmatic PR reviews.
• Hands-on problem solver who can triage incidents, refactor modules, or prototype new features—whichever moves the needle fastest.
• Fluency with Git-based workflows, trunk-based development, automated testing pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm).
• Strong communicator: translates technical trade-offs into concise updates for executives and actionable tasks for developers.
• Familiarity with security/compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001) and cloud cost optimisation.

Nice-to-haves:

• Exposure to data-engineering stacks (Kafka, Debezium, dbt) or AI/ML infrastructure.
Certifications such as CKAD/CKA or AWS Solutions Architect
