Job summary

APPLE SOUTH ASIA PTE. LTD. is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to advance automated testing across iOS, macOS and web platforms.

You will design and maintain test frameworks, implement scalable solutions, and partner with developers to improve quality throughout the product lifecycle. The role requires 5+ years in software development and QA, with strong skills in Java, Swift or Python, and experience building automated UI tests.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in Software Development/Quality Engineering.
• Strong passion for quality assurance in software, including developing and maintaining automated test libraries and tools.
• Strong programming and software design skills, preferably in Java, Swift and/or Python.
• Excellent knowledge of and experience with test methodologies ranging from functional unit tests to non-functional exploratory testing.
• Experience in building automated UI and non-UI tests for user facing applications or system frameworks. Experience with testing on iOS, macOS, Web, Android and Windows.

You will be responsible for overseeing quality of the features that customers use on Apple Account Identity platforms and applications in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Your job is to keep our high-quality bar set high, and to help us identify and execute ways to raise it even higher. The Quality Engineer in this role will play a key role in delivering highly critical Identity Management features to customers on iOS, macOS and Web in addition to supporting the development of test frameworks for automation & test management tools.

Join Apple’s Identity Management Services (IdMS) team as a Software Development Engineer in Test and be part of building the next generation of innovative software applications. We are looking for a passionate and driven engineer with experience in Quality engineering, developing tools and testing complex systems. In this role, you’ll be involved in testing the features on Web, iOS, macOS and other operating systems. Develop test plans and test cases with the goal of 100% automation and reduction of regression test cycles You will help with developing and maintaining automated test frameworks for exercising various features and continuously look for opportunities to improve efficiency and performance. As part of IdMS team, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, project teams and clients to develop test plans, execute test plans and test cases, and deliver high quality products Act as a strong advocate for quality in the software development process. Identify gaps or inefficiencies in workflows and suggest necessary process improvements. Responsibilities

• Defining, implementing, and continuously evolving automated test frameworks, monitoring CI performance, test result analysis, as well as test triage and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in Software Development/Quality Engineering.
• Strong passion for quality assurance in software, including developing and maintaining automated test libraries and tools.
• Strong programming and software design skills, preferably in Java, Swift and/or Python.
• Excellent knowledge of and experience with test methodologies ranging from functional unit tests to non-functional exploratory testing.
• Experience in building automated UI and non-UI tests for user facing applications or system frameworks. Experience with testing on iOS, macOS, Web, Android and Windows.
• Creative problem solver with a knack for building scalable solutions in a collaborative and cross-functional space.
• Ability to proactively triage, investigate, and debug difficult technical and UX problems independently as well as collaboratively.
• BA/BS in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent experience in related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Identity Management Services fundamentals.
• Expertise in build tools and CI/CD integrations.
• Proven ability to deliver high quality work in tight schedules.
• Experience with Generative AI technologies (e.g., LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted developer tools).
• Knowledge of the Apple development ecosystem using Xcode, Xcode Cloud, and XCT est/XCUIT est preferred, but not required.
