A subsidiary of the NETS Group is seeking a Software Consultant who will play a vital role in providing application development and support. Responsibilities include resolving customer reported incidents, developing enhancements, and supporting pre-sales activities. This role requires strong technical skills, specifically in Java, .Net, and SQL, along with substantial experience in project management and application support.
Position Summary
The Software Consultant will be a part of the Bureau Services division of NETS Solutions Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of the NETS Group. The incumbent will report to the Applications and Infrastructure Manager and is responsible for providing application development and support and for facilitating resolution on escalated calls.
Key Responsibilities
1. Application Support
Provide technical support to customer production system running our in-house or distributed applications
Provide solution to customer reported calls and incidents
Follow up with customers to ensure issues are resolved and the customers are satisfied
Manage, track and ensure proper closure of defects detected in production
Conduct presentation / training to internal and external parties
Management incident reported by users; Analyze user reported incidents and provide appropriate response or follow-up actions with the technical teams
2. Enhancements development and deployment
Perform development of enhancements/fixes of applications
Conduct testing activities for fixes and new release i.e. prepare test plan, prepare and update traceability matrix, generate test cases, perform test execution, review test results and generate test report
Track status of issues/activities to ensure timely follow-up

Manage, track and ensure proper closure of defects detected during testing
Provide regular updates to reporting manager on status of assignments and arising matters
3. Pre-sales Support and Project Management
Provide pre-sales support to sales and pre-sales team with technical solution, implementation and support services efforts and agreements
Provide quality delivery of enhancements, application implementation and support within the budget and timeline
Attend and document internal and external discussion and meetings
Provide support to users during user acceptance testing
Requirements
Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Engineering OR equivalent education and experience
6 to 9 years of working experience in pre-sales and technical application development, delivery and support functions
Good understanding and experience in project management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is necessary
Technically sound with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in Java, .Net and SQL. Experience in C++ is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good analytical and trouble-shooting skills, and capable of making quick and sound decisions
Able to work independently with minimum supervision
Good team player
