Job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Software Applications Test Manager to be a part of our Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Banking Applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, with a specific focus on banking applications, and a proven track record of managing testing teams and projects. This role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring the highest quality of software applications, and driving continuous improvement within the CoE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software testers and QA professionals.
  • Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and processes for software testing within the CoE.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for all testing activities, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of testing projects for banking applications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and business analysts to ensure test requirements are understood and met.
  • Manage resources, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful project outcomes.

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases.
  • Ensure the effective use of testing tools and frameworks to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies, tools, and processes.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Act as a key liaison between the testing team and other departments, including development, operations, and business units.
  • Communicate testing progress, issues, and results to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality software applications that meet business needs.

Technical Expertise:

  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in software testing and banking applications.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the testing team.
  • Ensure the integration of automated testing practices to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure that all testing activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with software testing and implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software testing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the banking industry.
  • Proven experience with banking applications and understanding of financial services regulations and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with performance testing and security testing.
