Modular Asset Management seeks a driven Investment Research Intern to join its team focused on soft commodities. You will work with analysts and portfolio managers, gaining exposure to the investment decision process and public markets.

The role offers hands-on experience sourcing ideas, building models, and tracking industry trends in a fast-paced buy-side environment. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with major financial databases are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Previous research/investment experience in soft agricultural sector (commodity futures or equities) is highly preferred.
• Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with financial databases (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, or Refinitiv) is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in coding and development of AI agents also a strong plus.
• Strong grasp of corporate finance, accounting principles, and valuation methodologies.
• Exceptional attention to detail, critical and objective communication skills, and the ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable insights.

Responsabilités

• Conduct top-down and bottom-up research on industries, companies, and secular market trends to help source long/short investment ideas.
• Build key financial models to evaluate share price drivers, forecast earnings vs consensus and run scenario and sensitivity analyses.
• Follow and update any key news and events that will affect assumptions and forecasts.
