Job summary

A charitable rehabilitation organization in Singapore seeks a Social Worker to provide counselling and support to male ex-drug offenders. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Social Work or related field, along with two years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and bilingual abilities are preferred. Qualifications

Purpose of the Role

The Social Worker will provide counselling, case management, and practical support to residents and their families, helping them reintegrate into society and rebuild their lives on a firm foundation of Christian values.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualised care plans for clients.
  • Manage case files and provide ongoing case management support.
  • Facilitate classes, group and individual counselling sessions, intake interviews in prison, family sessions, and community service programmes.
  • Collaborate with the Prison Department, residents, and families to ensure holistic care.
  • Assist clients in reconnecting with community resources and their families.
  • Oversee residents’ day-to-day matters.
  • Provide aftercare services such as job placement and arranging lodging.
  • Assist with general administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in social service or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Able to work independently, under pressure, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Bilingual in English and proficient in Chinese to engage with Chinese-speaking clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; able to provide full administrative support.
  • Experience in prison or rehabilitation work will be an advantage.
