RESPONSIBILITIES

Care Corner in partnership with NCSS is inviting interested Applicants for the Social Service Tribe Study Award. It provides students from qualifying courses of study with the opportunity to pursue a meaningful career in social service.

Interested applicants should pursue full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies from

local universities in the following courses of study:

Undergraduate Programmes

• Social Work • Occupational Therapy • Physiotherapy • Speech and Language Therapy

Postgraduate Programmes

• Speech and Language Therapy • Psychology

Eligibility

The Social Service Tribe Study Award programme supports both full-term and mid-term applications and to be eligible, applicant must fulfil the following points:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident who is willing to take up Singapore Citizenship
  • Be a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate student who has gained admission into one of the supported courses of study in a local institution recognised by professional associations;
  • Currently not be a full-time employee at any organisation
  • Currently not be receiving any scholarships or sponsorships
  • Have a recommended GPA of minimum 60%
  • Be able to serve a bond with the organization upon graduation if application is successful
  • For the mid-term study award, applicant must apply by the first semester of their final academic year

Job Brief & Description of the roles:

  1. Social Worker (FSC)
  • CASEWORK AND COUNSELLING is to manage case referrals. Conduct assessment, planning and intervention for cases. Conduct case conferences with partners. Document and evaluate case outcomes. Develop and review appropriate intervention strategies. Ensure reports on cases are submitted in a timely manner.
  • INFORMATION AND TRIAGE
  • COMMUNITY WORK
  • GROUP WORK
  1. Social Worker (Family Violence Protection)
  • End-to-end casework (with support from supervisor) of clients from information gathering, assessment, case management, working with systems, case conferences to case closure
  • Maintain consistent and accurate case documentation
  • Support urgent response activation and mobilisation for high-risk cases
  • Participate in assigned project teams on areas ranging from public education, group work and research
  • Opportunities to be involved to organisational level projects
QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate and postgraduate students who are currently pursuing full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies from local universities in Social Work.
