Job summary

Amazon Asia-Pacific Resources Private Limited (Singapore) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead construction-related design, planning and liaison activities for AWS data center infrastructure. You will coordinate design teams, manage budgets, and ensure timely delivery of site works across complex projects.

This role requires 6+ years of PM experience, a relevant engineering degree, and the ability to travel internationally up to 25% to site assessments and workshops.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of project management or project lead work including RFQ/RFP process, selecting engineering teams, developing budgets, coordinating multiple consultant teams and facilitating meetings.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs and maintain project documentation across all construction phases.
• Develop and maintain design standards, prototypes, and template specifications for site design.
• Review due diligence assessments to determine site constraints and risks.
• Create, review, and release design consultant RFPs.
• Manage external civil design consultants through the design and construction process.
• Develop and review designs for grading, storm water, flood mitigation, utilities, and pavements.
• Lead internal modelling and documentation resources.
• Coordinate with internal and external Architecture, Structure and MEP engineers.
• Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
• Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
• Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
• Travel for site assessments and meetings; anticipated travel ~25%.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
• Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site design.
• Review Due Diligence assessments to determine site constraints, risks and develop investigation scopes.
• Create, review, and release design consultant request for proposals.
• Manage our external civil design consultants through the design and construction process.
• Develop and review designs for grading, storm water, flood mitigation, utilities, and pavements.
• Deep understanding of interdependent civil design elements to develop optimised earthworks and utilities designs and minimise the construction schedule.
• Lead our internal modelling and documentation resources.
• Coordinate with internal and external Architecture, Structure and MEP design engineers.
• Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
• Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
• Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
• Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with authorities having jurisdiction. Anticipated travel is approximately 25%.

A day in the life

Given Amazon's global presence, 25% travel is required. This includes international travel to inspect and audit current and future data center sites. Collaboration with international teams is essential, and you may need to travel for workshops to develop schematic and detailed design documentation packages.
