Job description

You will monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of patient care provided by each medical specialist under the Maintenance of Competency (MOC) framework. The MOC framework covers the Medical, Surgical and Ambulatory Disciplines. You will be involved in the clinical data analysis and case reviews for selected procedures/medical conditions and key performance indicators as provided. You will also perform the role of a Surgical Clinical Reviewer (SCR) under the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP). A minimum of 1,680 cases needs to be reviewed per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify surgical patients for inclusion into the program registry through application of strict program inclusion/exclusion criteria and randomization protocol
  • Provide accurate and timely entry of data into the program’s database and meet the caseload accrual requirement protocol
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of patient care provided by each medical specialist
  • Work with respective Clinical Chiefs to select the procedures / medical conditions to be reviewed
  • Responsible for the completion of accurate and timely evaluation and report
  • Evaluate clinical performance for credentialing and privileging purposes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards related to the Maintenance of Competency framework and Credentialing & Priviledging
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical, Nursing or any other relevant discipline
  • Basic knowledge of data collection / abstraction, analysis, reporting and sharing
  • Familiar with data extraction from relevant healthcare-information system would be advantageous
  • Candidates with no prior experience are welcome to apply
  • Knowledge of relevant International Statistical Classification of Diseases & Related Health Problems and Classification of Health Interventions/Surgeries will be advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Good interpersonal, written & communication skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
