Role Overview
Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), Blockchain and Digital Assets are a growing domain which could materially change the landscape of financial services and asset management. This role, based in Singapore, joins our digital asset team in harnessing these innovations for use within Schroders, or our products and services. The role is also responsible for the implementations of digital asset initiatives as well as developing and promoting expertise of this area within our business and industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct through research on digital assets, blockchains and web3 space including tokens, stablecoins and tokenised assets while keeping abreast of market trends and competitor activities
- Evaluate and assess digital asset technologies, including smart contracts, networks, protocols and decentralised finance (DeFi) applications to identify innovative solutions.
- Support the ideation, creation, testing and piloting of blockchain-based solutions both internally and in collaboration with key partners.
- Evaluate and assess industry-lead digital asset initiatives including key working groups, token issuances and global regulatory changes.
- Where appropriate, contribute to industry working groups and the establishment of industry frameworks and standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate the integration of digital asset solutions into existing infrastructure, ensuring we are working in a collaborate and coordinated manner.
- Create detailed reports, demonstrations and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with transformation change, track records of supporting change programmes.
- Strong collaborative skills and, when appropriate, the ability to influence across a broad, senior stakeholder base.
- Methodical and detail orientated.
- Strong knowledge of digital assets and blockchain technology.
- Familiarity with Web3 concepts or providers, such as tokenisation platforms, decentralised exchanges (DEX) or popular digital wallets.
- Understanding of Web3 concepts and tokenisation processes, including their potential applications in finance.
Technical Skills
- Web3 and Blockchain experience, familiarity with on-chain troubleshooting, usage of Block Explorers, web3 tools and on-chain languages.
- Experienced in blockchain, digital assets and tokenisation. Demonstrable knowledge of this landscape from a technical and use case perspective.
- Experience in defi protocols and smart contracts desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as finance, computing or business.
- Experience in working with colleagues and stakeholders globally and sensitivity to cultural differences.
