What is the Opportunity?

We are looking for an Analyst to join our Corporate & Investment Banking division:

• Asia Structured Debt Vertical (ASDV)
• Corporate Banking Department, Asia Pacific (CBAP)

ASDV (Asia Structured Debt Vertical)

provides specialised financing and structured debt solutions across Asia Pacific, including project finance, leveraged finance, fund finance, structured credit, securitisation, real estate finance, and loan capital markets. It delivers integrated financing solutions that support clients' growth, investment, and capital management needs.

CBAP (Corporate Banking Department, Asia Pacific)

is SMBC's corporate client coverage team, responsible for managing client relationships, originating business opportunities, and connecting clients with the bank's full range of financing, capital markets, treasury, and advisory solutions to support their strategic objectives.

How Our Program Works

Our full-time 24-months Analyst Program helps to prepare talented individuals for an engaging and rewarding career at SMBC. The program will begin with 4-weeks of onboarding and training, during which analysts will participate in global orientation and regional training programs. These sessions will cover technical and professional skills, introduce key SMBC processes and business areas, and support analysts' professional development. Analysts will also have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and expand their networks with colleagues across both the region and the globe.

The 4-weeks of training includes:

• Latest industry practices and thought leadership - We invite distinguished internal and external experts to conduct training sessions on critical topics
• Credit and Financial Modelling, Financial Markets eLearning, Capital Markets, Accounting, Business Overviews (presented by panels of experts from our businesses) and Case Studies
• Business Writing, Presentation Skills, Managing Your Career, Personal and SMBC Branding, Japanese Cultural Training, and various networking events
• Buddy assignments to support fluid integration into the Analyst Program
