Job summary

Micron invites a Senior Data Scientist to partner with global teams in Singapore to identify high-value problems and deliver end-to-end optimization, simulation and digital twin solutions. You will translate business challenges into scalable products spanning data pipelines, modeling engines, APIs, and user interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field and strong programming/modeled capabilities.
• Hands-on experience in OR, DES, optimization, and decision science.
• Proven ability to develop and implement practical software solutions for operational problems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders from Micron manufacturing, planning and supply chain to identify, analyze, and solve complex business problems.
• Design, develop, and deploy digital twin solutions using OR, mathematical optimization, and DES techniques.
• Design and develop production-grade applications, including data pipelines, data cleaning, modeling engines, APIs, and user-interface applications.
• Transform large and diverse datasets into actionable insights, decision-support tools, and scalable software solutions.
• Drive deployment, adoption, benchmarking, and continuous improvement across Micron's global manufacturing sites.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Owners, AI Engineers and domain experts throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness with compliance.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements.

As a Senior Data Scientist in Smart Manufacturing & AI (SMAI), you will work with global planning, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to identify high-value business problems and deliver end-to-end optimization, simulation, and digital twin solutions.

We are looking for a full-stack solution developer who can translate ambiguous business challenges into scalable products and production-ready solutions. You will be expected to be capable of working across the entire solution lifecycle, including problem framing, data understanding, modeling, software development, deployment, user adoption, and value realization.

Successful candidates are intellectually curious, highly independent, and capable of navigating complex and ambiguous business environments while delivering measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Partner with stakeholders from Micron manufacturing, planning and supply chain departments to identify, analyze, and solve complex business problems.
• Design, develop, and deploy digital twin solutions using Operations Research, mathematical optimization, and Discrete Event Simulation techniques.
• Design and develop production-grade applications, including data pipelines, data cleaning, modeling engines, APIs, and user-interface applications.
• Transform large and diverse datasets into actionable insights, decision-support tools, and scalable software solutions.
• Drive deployment, adoption, benchmarking, and continuous improvement of solutions across Micron's global manufacturing sites.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Owners, AI Engineers and domain experts throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or related quantitative disciplines with demonstrated strong programming and modeling capabilities.
• Hands‑on experience in Operations Research, Discrete Event Simulation, mathematical optimization, decision science, with demonstrated ability to develop and implement practical solutions for operational problems.
• 3+ years of experience developing software applications using Python, SQL, Java, C/C++, C#, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or similar technologies, with strong full-stack development capabilities.
• Knowledge of modern software development practices including APIs, Git, CI/CD, cloud platforms, ETL/data pipelines, and AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, planning, semiconductor operations, or related industrial environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with structured and logical thinking approaches, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.
• Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role‑appropriate AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem‑solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes。
