Job summary

SPENCER OGDEN PTE. LTD. is seeking a Site Project Engineer to support GIS extension and maintenance projects, blending field supervision with electrical technical knowledge to ensure site works meet quality and safety standards.

You will supervise on-site GIS installation, conduct risk assessments, act as PTW signatory, and coordinate with the Project Management office. Strong reporting, communication, and independent field work are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in project engineering within electrical utility or infrastructure environments.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical systems with exposure to GIS extension and preventative maintenance.
• Must possess valid PSM-SP and CSOC certifications.
• Real-time on-site progress reporting and effective communication to project stakeholders.
• Own reliable transportation for travel between project sites and office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily on-site activities for GIS installation, extension, and maintenance.
• Inspect and troubleshoot site installation works to meet project specs and utility requirements.
• Provide technical guidance for GIS operations, testing, and system integrity checks.

• Serve as the link between field team and Project Management Office.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Site Project Engineer to join our team, specifically to support Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) extension and maintenance projects.

This role requires a blend of field supervision and electrical technical knowledge, ensuring that all site works are executed to the highest quality and safety specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & technical oversight

• Supervise daily on-site activities for GIS installation, extension, and routine maintenance projects.
• Apply fundamental electrical knowledge to inspect and troubleshoot site installation works, ensuring they meet project specifications and applicable utility requirements
• Provide technical guidance for GIS-related operations, equipment testing, and system integrity checks.

Safe & permit management

• Act as an authorized signatory for Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and verify safety protocols for all high-risk maintenance and extension works
• Enforce rigorous safety standards in high-voltage or restricted environments, ensuring all personnel comply with applicable safety requirement
• Serve as the primary link between the field team and the Project Management office
• Support the Project Manager by preparing detailed progress reports, maintaining site logs, and managing documentation related to maintenance schedules.

Requirements

• Ensure accurate, real-time reporting of site progress, challenges, and resource requirements.
• Experience: Proven experience in project engineering, specifically within electrical utility or infrastructure environments.
• Expertise: Fundamental understanding of electrical systems, with specific exposure to Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) extension and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Certifications: Must possess valid PSM-SP (Process Safety Management) and CSOC (Construction Safety Orientation Course).

Operational Requirements

• Mobility: Must possess ownreliable transportation to facilitate regular travel between various projectsites and the office.
• Communication: Strong organizational and reporting skills; ability to clearly communicate technical field observations to the Project Manager.
• Accountability: Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining strong accountability to project deadlines and quality standards.
