You assist in planning, developing and execution of capital projects, technical development, feasibility perspectives of engineering-related activities in the supply chain and capital-expense project execution to support growth, world-class manufacturing and productivity with the highest level of quality, safety and environmental requirements. You help ensure sure that Mondelēz business and innovation processes in project management and Mondelēz standards in execution are followed.
How you will contribute
The role supports capital project execution, and you will be accountable for the quality of the results and execution of capital projects using Mondelēz standards, and business and innovation processes in project management. You will help define and deliver the capital and technical agenda during the development phase of capital investments with stakeholders so that accurate budgets, plans and fit-for-purpose technical solutions are provided and develop the capital budget according to the contract and forecast cash flow. You will also help ensure that applicable engineering developments and standards are properly implemented, and support the development and implementation of state-of-the-art processes and equipment strategies to optimize resources, harmonize assets and rollout best practices.

POSITION PURPOSE
Ensure New Product Development (NPD), Productivity, Quality improvement, GAPs closing (related to HSE, Quality) projects, as requested by the company, are executed on time and within budget, delivering the physically desired finished products. This role will manage capital investment projects, leadership during concept/design stage and execution at highest level of efficiency, quality, and employee safety. Identifies cost-effective, high-savings productivity solutions and develops projects to improve performance, product quality, safety and sustainability, yield and manufacturing cycle time.
This role will also ensure to coordinate with all plant projects and plans, to ensure objectives are aligned across all categories, with the ultimate aim of meeting the plant’s CAPEX/Expense Budgets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Capital Project Development, Coordination, and Assessment
Lead IIM process within the plant.
Represent the plant in discussions with suppliers, regarding all productivity-related projects
Ensure all plant functions are aligned on the project, and collect relevant input from those plant functions to be delivered to the customers for Project Development Requests (PDRs) and Launch Requests (LRs).
Ensure project creation, approval and implementation (in coordination with Business Development-Engineering); fully meeting the needs and purposes of the project and success criteria which aligned with cross-function
2. Technical Expertise
Lead and collect technical input for projects, during initial discussions with cross-functional teams, and during detailed discussions with plant functions and suppliers.
Coordinate with Business Development (BD) during the detailed preparation of I2M projects, including Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) write-ups, approvals, equipment purchase, equipment installation, and final equipment & process commissioning.
Provide technical expertise during the evaluation of offers for Capital projects, as well as during the equipment installation and commissioning.
Detail design with suppliers and conduct design lock with cross-functional
3. Budgeting
Ensure projects are budgeted and executed within the agreed-upon budgets.
Ensure projects are developed and executed within the agreed financial budget.
Coordinate with BD for pre-engineering and cost calculations, expenditure planning, and overall project scheduling.
Approve capital appropriation requests, ensuring cost and timing alignment with approved LRs.
4. Installation and Know-How Transfer
Ensure that relevant know-how is known by project team and adequately utilized.
Methods of statement and project timeline aligned with all cross functions.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams during the installation of new equipment/machinery and infrastructure, as well as during the commissioning phase with the aforementioned team to ensure target performance is achieved as planned.
Reaction timely with changing and corrective action for unplanned issues during execution phase
Research and identify potential suppliers, in line with Mdlz policies and supplier management strategies, to increase the plant’s “library of knowledge” of technical requirements and solutions for the processing of the widest possible range of products within the currently produced categories
Coordination with Procurement to facilitate initial contact with suppliers, as well as ensuring supplier-specific requirements/conditions are met in the issued orders, if acceptable to Mondelez…
6. People Management
Lead project implementation team at the plant (including equipment purchase and installation), ensuring the I2M timeline is executed as planned.
7. Presentations and Periodic Reporting
Toolbox meeting with vendor to update current status and timely update corrective action
Follow-up, and periodically publish updates on the projects’ requirements, timelines, costs…, as well as in relation to other projects:
+ Periodic Updates and Actual projects’ requirements in terms of equipment and resources
+ Periodic Updates and Actual projects’ execution costs and time-frames
Participate in screening and evaluation of all identified improvement opportunities and ideas. Creatively group those ideas into technically feasible concepts. Share and communicate potential concepts to identify potential projects.
Develop and monitor the following KPI’s: Gross savings of productivity
9. GMP/MIA/ ISO Audit Expectations
Observes Good Manufacturing Practices by following its guidelines to protect the company products from possible contamination and rejection.
Reports all deficiencies contrary to Mondelēz's audit expectations by informing his immediate superior of such defect or gap so that appropriate corrective action could be immediately made to avoid, if not aborted, further damage to the operations.
Ensures that ISO/ MIA guidelines/procedures are observed by following strictly the Engineering procedures and work instructions in order to pass ISO/ MIA audits
Ensures that all plant equipment, facilities, and utilities related to projects comply with statutory regulations, company policy, and Mondelēz Engineering Standards in order to provide a safe working environment.
Observes a safe working environment by following guidelines in using the proper wearing of personnel protective equipment while in the plant and by reporting to his immediate superior all unsafe acts and conditions to protect himself from accidents and the company assets from damage as well as the safety of his colleagues
Participants in environment and health affairs by promoting awareness and refraining from acts, which are detrimental to the environment and health in order to ensure compliance with administrative and government regulations
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or higher education degree in Engineering
Min 4 years of work experience as Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent roles at any FMCG (pref. food manufacturing) plant
Good knowledge of MS Project, excellent Project Management skills
Fundamental know-how & experience in food processes and products
Good communication and negotiation skills
Excellent written and spoken English Language
