Job summary

A leading construction company in Singapore is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee site operations and ensure project delivery within budget and safety standards. The successful candidate will manage a team, maintain project logistics, and interact with various stakeholders to guarantee successful project execution. Applicants must possess a degree in Civil Engineering and at least 10 years of related experience in construction management.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Project Manager and / or Asst. Project Manager.

  • Overall in charge of site coordination.

  • Together with PM, plan site temporary facilities including site access and proper storage areas.

  • Lead a team of operation staffs in daily operations.

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day construction activities of the project.

  • Monitor and control general workers deployment on site.

  • Maintain and manage site storage areas for building materials and equipments.

  • Maintain site access throughout the construction period.

  • Maintain records and movement of the rental materials / equipment irregardless of such items is used by / issued to whoever.

  • Planning in ahead to prevent problem on site before it occurs, planning the delivery and storage of equipment and materials.

  • Ensure progress of work is within budget and timelines as well as quality and safety objectives.

  • Control and monitor work progress and resources.

  • Monitor and control material wastage.

  • In-depth understanding of project specifications, technical details and construction drawings.

  • Carry out work scheduling, material requisition planning, project coordination, and documentation.

  • Coordinate with project staff especially technical staff, client representatives, consultants and subcontractors on technical matters to ensure that the operation on site is smooth, timely, safe, within budget and acceptable quality.

  • Ensure timely completion and good quality of works.

  • Ensure works are carried out safely and WSHE regulations are complied with.

  • Ensure that proper housekeeping is maintained at all location at all time.

  • Monitor Project's cost by taking proactive measures to prevent costs overruns.

  • Provide proper guidance and training to junior staff.

  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor/ Management.

Job Requirements:

  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience.

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Diploma holders or equivalent or mature candidate with relevant experience and proven track records will also be considered.

  • Able to work independently and cope in a fast-paced environment.

  • Well-versed in construction sequence, principles and regulatory requirements.

  • Independent, diligent, meticulous and highly motivated with excellent team spirit.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
