Job description

Location: Tuas Area, Singapore

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the scrap yard, including material intake, processing, sorting, and dispatch.
  • Lead, train, and supervise site workers, machine operators, and drivers.
  • Ensure workplace safety by enforcing SOPs, conducting toolbox meetings, and adhering to MOM/NEA regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and machinery to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate logistics and transport of materials in and out of the yard.
  • Liaise with head office on inventory tracking, stocktake reports, and operational updates.
  • Implement process improvements to increase productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Handle site incidents, risk assessments, and corrective actions where necessary.
  • Manage subcontractors and external vendors when required.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in operations/site management, preferably in the scrap metal, recycling, or construction industry.
  • Good understanding of workplace safety, equipment handling, and environmental compliance in Singapore.
  • Ability to read and interpret weight tickets, inventory logs, and site records.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a rugged outdoor environment.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory systems.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Mandarin/Malay/Tamil is a plus for workforce communication.
  • Class 3 license or forklift certificate is an advantage.
