Job description

The Site HR Lead provides HR leadership across the site, enabling the delivery of the business strategy and business performance. The role will partner with the business to design and effectively execute the people strategy, leveraging their local context and expertise. As a trusted and best in class partner to the business leaders (primarily Site Director and the Site Leadership Team), the role will focus on driving the Thriving People priorities with impact on talent, leadership, culture and capability and coaching leaders in the delivery of key people priorities aligned to the site strategy. In addition, they will collaborate with (and navigate other areas of) HR to deliver the best employee experience in alignment with the HR Operating Model.

The Site HR Lead is a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and a member of the Primary & Small Molecules (PSM) Manufacturing HR Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and drive the effective delivery of diverse and complex change projects (i.e. culture change projects, workforce restructuring, organisation design, etc.) in support of the business’s strategic agenda. Champion and influence senior leaders to effectively lead change.
  2. Lead initiatives that enable the organisation to have the best leaders at all levels, with the right capabilities to motivate, focus, develop and care for the people and create a culture of purpose and performance.
  3. Grow leader’s leadership and people management capability to enable them to build high-performing teams; provide input, constructive feedback, and healthy challenge in a way that builds trust and enables the team and individuals to be most effective in their roles.
  4. Drive best in class talent management and succession planning for key roles to build a high quality, diverse talent pipeline that supports business growth now and in the future.
  5. Apply business insight to diagnose future capability gaps – Future workforce mapping and capability planning, succession planning and talent management.
  6. Use data and analytic tools and processes to diagnose issues, inform execution of the people strategy and drive best in class leadership and organisation effectiveness.
  7. Successfully manage and track progress of the area supported against key HR milestones, deliverables, and metrics.
  8. Partner with various HR delivery channels to support Site level initiatives and assist with delivery of HR CoE and/or People Services special projects. Working as OneHR to deliver HR services to the business. Support the development of country HR policies in partnership with the Singapore HR Country Head to ensure the policies are market competitive and fit-for-purpose.
  9. Lead, plan, and implement all strategies on Industrial Relations, which allow the site flexibility in meeting the evolving business needs whilst retaining the support of the Union and employees.
  10. Ensure HR risks are mitigated, company reputation is protected and related financial, legal and policy duties are carried out. Manage escalations and support the business to create a positive employee environment. Support resolution of site IR issues and partner with ER Services to implement strategies to mitigate issues and/or enhance performance.
  11. Promote learning, leadership development and coaching opportunities with business leaders.

Experience Required:

  1. Experience translating business objectives into HR goals by appropriately setting direction, objectives, and success metrics.
  2. Experience in supporting a manufacturing site, business unit, or function, delivering on the HR agenda, and aligning to the business strategy and needs.
  3. Experience in negotiating collective agreements with the Union and managing complex employee relations situations with care and respect.
  4. A generalist HR Business Partner with good functional expertise in areas such as ER/ IR, change management, talent management, OD.
  5. Experience working in a matrixed structure multi-national organization, leveraging influence within a complex network of stakeholders.
  6. Experience in leading OD/change programs that enhance organizational capability, culture, and performance.
  7. Proven ability to bring different teams together to achieve common goals; navigate competing priorities to co-create solutions with colleagues at pace.
  8. Proven ability to drive culture change and have a strong continuous improvement mindset.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Degree qualification in any discipline, preferably with an MBA.
  2. Experience in leading and delivering complex HR agenda.
  3. Strong HR generalist background gained within MMCs in pharmaceuticals, FMCG, automotive environment (commercial and/or supply chain).
  4. Skilled in Union engagement, negotiation, and influencing.
  5. Resilient and calm under pressure.
  6. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  7. Knowledge of relevant employment legislations and best in class HR practices.
  8. Understanding of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry (preferred).
