Job description

Responsibilities:

· Develop and enforce quality control plans (QCPs) specific to projects, outlining inspection points, testing requirements, and acceptance criteria.

· Review engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

· Monitor the implementation of quality control measures at various stages of the piping project, from material selection to installation.

· Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of piping components to verify conformity with design specifications and quality standards.

· Oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) processes, including radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, dye penetrant testing, and magnetic particle testing.

· Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic tests on piping systems to ensure their structural integrity and leak-tightness.

· Verify the suitability and quality of materials by conducting material receiving inspections and reviewing material certificates.

· Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of materials to prevent damage or contamination.

· Monitor and evaluate welding procedures, qualifications, and welder performance to ensure high-quality welds in piping systems.

· Conduct visual inspections and coordinate radiographic examinations of welded joints to identify defects and deviations.

· Maintain comprehensive records of all inspection and testing activities, including test results, inspection reports, and relevant documentation.

· Generate detailed quality reports outlining findings, discrepancies, and recommended corrective actions.

· Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to address quality-related concerns and provide technical guidance.

· Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding quality control matters.

· Identify non-conformities, deviations, and quality issues, and lead investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

· Track the resolution of non-conformities and ensure that corrective actions are effective.

· Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations governing piping systems, such as ASME B31.3, API 570, and others.
