Job summary

Wong & Leow LLC in Singapore offers a select number of Practice Training Contracts to high-calibre law graduates, providing grounding in Singapore law while exposing trainees to cross-border matters through the joint law venture with Baker McKenzie.

We are looking for commercially minded candidates who will start their legal careers in January 2027 with our Employment or Finance & Projects practice groups, through a hands-on Traineeship Programme with structured training and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Candidates with strong academic credentials, commercial awareness and sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Rotate across Core Seat and Secondary Seat to gain exposure to advocacy and solicitor practice areas.
• Under supervision of Supervising Solicitor and mentorship from Associate Mentor.
• Training to develop hands-on experience and practical legal skills.

The Traineeship Programme

Designed to provide hands-on experience, along with the knowledge, skills and experience required for a successful legal career. You will benefit from:

• • Induction: Structured introduction to the Firm, our practice areas and the work we undertake, to equip you transition smoothly into practice
  • Technical Legal Training: Regular practice group training sessions and Trainee-focused seminars that provide a strong grounding in commercial law across practice groups
  • Professional Skills Development: Targeted training in areas such as drafting, presentation skills and client management - developing the skills required to operate as a trusted adviser
  • Ethics and Professional Responsibility: Structured sessions covering ethics, professional conduct, court etiquette and risk management.

Practice Areas & Rotation

The Traineeship Programme includes rotations across a Core Seat and a Secondary Seat, providing Trainees with exposure to both advocacy and solicitor practice areas as part of their 12-month Practice Training Period.

Supervising Solicitors & Mentors

You will be assigned a Supervising Solicitor who will oversee your training and on-the-job learning. In addition, an Associate Mentor will provide guidance and serve as an informal point of contact as you transition from graduate to legal practitioner.
