Your Role – Impactful, Meaningful And Future-Oriented

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead the definition, design, development, integration, and verification of the ATC subsystem across all CBTC GoA 4 projects.
  • Own the ATC architecture and ensure consistency of design practices across project teams.
  • Oversee key technical deliverables including:
    • CBTC scheme plans
    • Headway simulations
    • Rolling stock hardware/functional interfaces
    • Integration with traction/brake systems, train stopping algorithms, wake/sleep sequences, PA interfaces, and vehicle networks (MVB, Ethernet).
  • Ensure technical compliance with standards (e.g., EN 50126/8/9, IEEE 1474, IEC 62290).

Team Management & Development:

  • Lead and manage the ATC engineering team, setting clear responsibilities and development goals.
  • Assess and maintain the competency levels within the team; identify skill gaps and define development plans to address them.
  • Ensure appropriate assignment of team members to projects based on technical skills, workload, and project priorities.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of new engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative and quality-driven team culture.

Project Coordination & Delivery:

  • Collaborate with Project Engineering Managers, Systems Engineers, and Project Managers to understand project scopes and technical needs.
  • Support project planning, resource forecasting, workload balancing, and milestone tracking for all ATC workstreams.
  • Act as the primary ATC point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead ATC design reviews, interface meetings, and participate in customer and partner workshops.
  • Contribute to RAMS activities, hazard analysis, and safety case development.

Documentation & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure timely production of high-quality ATC deliverables: functional specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), verification plans, etc.
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes, and design standards.

Your Qualifications And Skills – Digital And Solid

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Railway, or Systems Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience in signalling or ATC system design, with direct experience on CBTC GoA 3/4 projects.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership and team management in a multi-project environment.
  1. Strong understanding of:CBTC and ATC architecture and scheme planning
  2. Train performance modelling, headway simulations
  3. Rolling stock interfaces (hardware & functional)
  4. Subsystem integration: traction, braking, stopping control, wake-up/sleep, PA, vehicle buses
  5. MVB and Ethernet-based communication protocols
  • Familiarity with industry standards (CENELEC, IEEE, IEC) and safety-critical system development.
  • Experience with engineering tools such as DOORS, AutoCAD, MATLAB, simulation platforms.
  • Experience with Siemens CBTC solution and possession of functional safety certifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team-building, and mentoring abilities, complemented by excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
