A reputable recruitment agency is seeking a skilled Shipyard Pipefitter for piping system installation and repair on various projects in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of pipefitting experience, strong knowledge of marine piping systems, and the ability to work safely in dynamic shipyard conditions. Key responsibilities include installing and aligning pipes, reading ship drawings, and ensuring compliance with standards. A background check and drug screening are required.
We are hiring skilled Shipyard Pipefitters to support piping system installation and repair on new ship construction, vessel overhauls, and maintenance projects. This role requires strong knowledge of marine piping systems, precision fitting skills, and the ability to work safely in dynamic shipyard conditions.
Measure, cut, bend, thread, install, and align pipe for various shipboard systems (fuel, bilge, hydraulics, steam, potable water, HVAC, etc.).
Read and interpret ship drawings, isometric sketches, and piping schematics to plan layout.
Fit and fabricate piping assemblies using hand tools, power tools, flame-cutting equipment, and bending machines.
Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of installed piping systems.
Install valves, flanges, brackets, supports, and insulation as required.
Coordinate closely with welders, mechanics, and other trades for efficient installation.
Ensure all work meets shipyard standards and regulatory requirements (ABS, NAVSEA, USCG).
Work in confined spaces, tanks, voids, and elevated ship structures.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment following shipyard safety rules.
2–5 years of pipefitting experience in shipyard, ship repair, industrial, or related environments.
Strong ability to read and interpret ship piping schematics and blueprints.
Ability to perform precise measurements and calculations.
Experience with pipe bending, brazing, and various joining methods.
Familiarity with marine materials (copper-nickel, stainless steel, carbon steel).
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Must pass background check, drug screening, and fit‑for‑duty test.
