A leading maritime company in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional to oversee chemical tanker operations. The role requires over 5 years of relevant experience and native-level proficiency in Japanese for liaising with headquarters and stakeholders. Responsibilities include coordinating cargo operations, monitoring vessel performance, and ensuring effective communication with Japanese partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience on board as Marine Superintendent.
  • Proficiency in English and native-level Japanese.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Full spectrum of Chemical Tanker Operation.

- Establish standard practice of Chemical Operation Division.

- Regional PIC for port information.

- Supervise and coordinate planning and executions of cargo operations.

- Appointment of Agents (World-wide).

- Give instructions to Ships and Agents.

- Visit the vessels to coordinate with Master for navigation, safety and cargo operations.

- Follow up with managers on maintaining crew quality including interaction with crew during visits on board.

- Visit ports to attend agent’s KPI meeting.

- Assessment of Vessels’ Port Disbursement.

- Monitoring of vessel performance, providing instructions and Marine technical support, recommending

advice for improvement.

- To monitor cargo tank cleaning plan.

- Attend periodical meetings with Japan HQ.

- Compile periodical operation result and financial performance.

- Ensure proper monthly closing process for accounting and present reports to Japan HQ.

- Communicate and coordinate with Japan HQ on operation-related matters and Japanese stakeholders (Charterers, Ship Owners and local agents).

Requirement:

- The successful candidate has more than 5 years of relevant work experience.

- Marine technical knowledge including experience on board and Marine Super Intendent.

- Able to converse in English as well as Native-level proficiency in Japanese to liaise with Japan HQ, Japanese Charterers, Ship Owners and Vendors.

- Good communicator and team player.
