Job summary

Anglo American is seeking a Shipping Financial Trader to maximise the value of its Shipping portfolio. The role focuses on disciplined freight risk management, proprietary FFA trading and rigorous market analysis to support hedging and commercial decisions.

You will work closely with the physical shipping team and other stakeholders to translate exposures into hedges, maintain governance, and communicate market views. A strong background in freight derivatives and risk discipline is essential.

Qualifications

Degree in commerce or finance or related field.
Minimum 5 years in financial trading or related role.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement freight-hedging strategies using FFAs and other derivatives.
Analyse freight market fundamentals, routes, timings and spreads to inform trades.
Execute trades with adherence to mandates and governance.
Monitor positions, liquidity and risk, adjusting strategies as conditions change.
Communicate market views and trading rationale clearly to stakeholders.
Collaborate with shipping teams, risk, finance and compliance.
Maintain trading records and ensure proper approvals and documentation.
