Job summary

A leading crane and deck machinery specialist in Singapore is seeking an experienced Ship Electrician to troubleshoot and repair deck cranes and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working as an Electrical Officer on bulkers, with in-depth knowledge of electro-hydraulic cranes. Strong team supervision skills and experience with PLC systems are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Solid working experience with marine crane and deck machinery makers.
• Min 5 years' experience sailing as Electrical Officer on bulkers.
• Able to write technical reports and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out field service attendances to troubleshoot & repair Deck Cranes.
• Supervise a team of mechanics and lead large repair projects.

Alatas Crane Services operates out of 14 offices worldwide. We offer field service repairs, inspections, overload load testing, dry-dock repair supervision, component repairs, spare parts supply, technical support as well as supply of new cranes and upgrades to existing ones.

To support our Marine Crane & Deck Machinery Service operations, we are employing experienced Ship Electrician - Ship Cranes as follows:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• To carry out field service attendances to troubleshoot & repair Deck Cranes, Grabs, Windlasses, Hatch Cover Hydraulics and Davits.

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will have solid working experience with marine crane and deck machinery makers such as:

• MacGREGOR
• IHI
• MITSUBISHI
• LIEBHERR
• TTS MARINE
• TSUJI
• HATLAPA
• PUSNES, NIPPON PUSNES etc.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Min 5 years' experience sailing as Electrical Officer on bulkers equipped with deck cranes and has carried out troubleshooting and repairing Marine Cranes, Windlasses & other hydraulic systems on board,
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of PLC controlled electro-hydraulic cranes & hydraulic machinery.
• Able to read and comprehend electric and hydraulic diagrams.
• Able to independently troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical problems.
• Able to supervise a team of mechanics and carry out large repair projects as Lead Engineer on board, on voyage and in Ship Yards.
• Able to write technical reports and able to communicate with owners' representatives.
• Previous employment as service engineer with one of the leading deck crane manufacturers will be an added advantage.
• Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD) will be an added advantage
