Qualifications

• Fresh graduate or minimum 1 year of experience in an analytical laboratory in the chemical industry.
• Willing to work on Jurong Island with 12-hour rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze samples to support operations in running processes.
• Perform tests to monitor production and record results.
• Communicate results to Operations personnel.
• Prepare reagents and standards needed for analysis.
• Ensure sufficient laboratory inventories.
• Participate in job safety risk activities.
• Perform routine housekeeping to keep the area clean.
• Cover duties in the laboratory stream as assigned.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze samples to support operations in running processes by setting up and operating laboratory equipment and instruments according to instructions.
• Perform tests based on the Analysis Plan to monitor production and record results.
• Communicate results to relevant Operations personnel.
• Prepare reagents and standards needed for analysis.
• Ensure sufficient laboratory inventories such as chemicals and consumables.
• Participate in job safety risk activities and adhere to safe practices in the laboratory.
• Perform routine and non-routine housekeeping to keep the area clean and safe.
• Cover duties in the laboratory stream as assigned.

Maintain lab equipment and quality system

• Calibrate, verify, and perform preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment as per instructions.
• Maintain equipment to ensure proper working condition and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Update work instructions, analytical procedures, and records as needed.
• Maintain laboratory records and the Quality file.

Requirements

Education, Certification, or relevant experience:

• ITE/Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent.
• Fresh graduate or minimum 1 year of experience in an analytical laboratory in the chemical industry.
• Willing to work on Jurong Island with 12-hour rotating shifts (company transport provided).

Additional skills and abilities

• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Team player.
• Attention to detail with accurate data recording skills.
• Knowledge or experience with laboratory instruments like titrators and chromatographic instruments.

Laboratory equipment used

GC, HPLC, Automatic Titrators, AAS, UV Spectrometer, Glass oven, Rotary evaporator, Density meter, X-ray, TOC analyzer, TGA analyzer, etc.
