Job description

Responsibilities:

- Oversee, monitor, and optimize manufacturing processes to minimize costs by effectively utilizing manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.

- Initiate, implement, and manage continuous improvement programs in line with industry best practices in metal drum manufacturing, focusing on productivity and product quality.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements across manufacturing processes.

- Collaborate with the HR department to address and resolve employee grievances in a timely manner.

- Conduct performance evaluations for maintenance technicians and engineering staff based on job descriptions to assess competency, knowledge, and contributions.

- Maintain a high standard of safety practices and work conditions, continuously improving safety performance through both physical safety measures and fostering positive employee safety attitudes.

- Ensure cleanliness and organization in all areas by maintaining and improving housekeeping standards.

- Assess, train, and develop individual skills, ensuring employees are up to date with best engineering management practices.

- Ensure timely submission of overtime records to the HR department for accurate monthly salary computation.

- Develop and maintain process documentation, such as work instructions and process specifications, and assist in quality planning efforts.

- Prepare reports, analyze data, and offer recommendations for improving plant operations and resolving production-related issues.

- Ensure that subordinates are well-trained, equipped, and motivated to execute the maintenance program in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

- Foster regular communication with production and maintenance teams, addressing concerns and ensuring effective two-way communication.

- Support the hiring process for production personnel as needed.

- Maintain and update operating manuals for manufacturing equipment and facilities.

- Keep operating training manuals up to date for all manufacturing processes.

- Perform additional ad-hoc projects or tasks assigned by the Head of Department (HOD) or Management.

Requirements:

- Diploma or degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, or Engineering disciplines, with a background in production manufacturing. Ideal for those currently in technician or assistant engineer roles, seeking career progression to an engineering position.

- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Ability to supervise and lead subordinates effectively.

- Proficient in computer applications.

- Knowledge of ISO standards is a plus.

- Strong background in manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, or engineering disciplines.
