PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • Perform RAMS analyses and produce related deliverables in accordance with QCD commitments on the project(s)/program(s).
  • Apply the applicable Alstom Engineering/RAMS processes and instructions.

NETWORK & LINKS:

1) Internal:

  • Projects: Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) or Chief of Development (CoD), Project Warranty Manager (PrWM) and other RAMS stakeholders from other departments (Sourcing, Industrial, etc).
  • Integrating and Participating Units: RAMS Engineers counterparts on the corresponding project(s)/program(s).

2) External:

  • External suppliers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for analysing all FRACAS / failures reports across all the Services LTSS projects and to prepare a fleet reliability growth chart.
  • Lead the 8D process for critical failures together with the Project Engineering Managers and Project Quality Managers.
  • Create fault tree diagrams and charts including the historical data to help the project teams identify root causes.
  • Think out-of-the-box to derive root causes based on data analysis.
  • Identify technical areas of improvement to support the improvement of MKBF targets.
  • Perform RAMS analyses as per the applicable instructions/processes and other specific requirements committed to the customer.
  • Deliver RAMS analyses compliant with QCD work packages commitments.
  • Address customer/independent parties (ISA, NoBo, Debo, etc) comments to get the approval on the RAMS deliverables within the limits of Alstom commitments.
  • Contribute to the assessment of the RAMS performance of the product and to the upstream identification of the necessary RAMS requirements to ensure the achievement of the RAMS targets.
  • Apply Alstom engineering rules and processes to the RAMS activities.
  • Report on progress of the activities and alert the Train/Subsystem RAMS Engineer and N+1 in case of difficulty.
  • To have a pro-active and critical view view on the RAMS data/results, in order to enhance the adequacy and consistency of the RAMS studies and requirements.
  • Seek for technical understanding of the Alstom products so as to better assess the safety performance and identify potential areas of improvements.
  • Adopt a product-oriented mindset when performing studies to foster the capitalisation of the study results towards improved product RAMS performance.

KPI MEASUREMENT:

  • On time delivery and First time right.
  • Compliance to Alstom engineering processes and instructions for safety.

COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS:

1) Qualification:

  • University degree or equivalent recognised university degree.
  • Experience in rolling-stock engineering/validation.
  • RAMS analysis and demonstrated methods and tools used.
  • Experience in Electrical and/or Electro-mechanical Engineering.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sense of priorities.
  • Structured and organised with hands-on approach.
