A leading company in instrumentation is seeking a Service Technician II to work in a repair and calibration environment. You will troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electronic assemblies for TSI equipment, interface with both internal and external customers, and ensure product performance. Applicants should have a strong background in electronic components, relevant technician experience, and be prepared to work in a manufacturing environment.
JOB SUMMARY
The Service Technician II will be working in a repair and calibration environment trouble shooting and repairing complex mechanical and electronic assemblies used in a variety of TSI equipment to the component level. This position is responsible for interfacing with Manufacturing Assembly, Engineering, and internal and external customers to assist them in trouble shooting and repairing TSI equipment. This position may be responsible for servicing customer returns or TSI sales inventory.

Trouble shoots and repair complex mechanical and electrical assemblies used in TSI equipment to the component level.
Analyze errors in electronic design and production.
Provides advice and feedback on corrective actions.
Provides technical assistance and guidance to other technical personnel.
Continually improve the setup, calibration and test procedures used on service equipment orders.
Provide training when necessary to the service assemblers in your area.
Communicate with engineering on product performance and functionality issues.
Assist the Technical support group with our customers’ needs for technical support.
Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years relevant Technician experience required
Electronic Technology AA degree or Certificate preferred with 3+ years relevant experience
In lieu of Technical AA Degree/Certificate, 2-3 years of electrical or computer engineering coursework as part of a Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3+ years of relevant experience
Experience
Experience in testing, diagnostics, trouble shooting and repair of PCA circuit boards and complex instrumentation preferred
Experience trouble shooting and repairing mechanical and electrical devices to the component level a plus
Experience responding to internal and external customers and developing a better understanding of the business a plus
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of electronic components and their usage in electronic circuits.
Advanced knowledge of electronic test equipment (i.e. Oscilloscope, VOM and other test equipment).
Computer skills using Microsoft Office products.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED
Must be able to:
Use standard office equipment such as copier, fax, telephone, postage, etc.
Operate computer and other electronic equipment
Use hand and electric tools and manipulate small objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is typically performed in a manufacturing environment working at a work bench on a level surface. Air quality and noise levels are within normal limits. Eye protection may be required. Under normal conditions, exposure to excessive noise, dust, humidity, and fumes is rare. May be required to work more hours than normally expected during a regular workweek depending on workload and deadline requirements.
