Job description

To further strengthen our team, Global Customer Support are looking for a Service Engineer to join us at Kongsberg Maritimein Singapore. As a Service Engineer, you will have the responsibility for installation, service, and maintenance of KONGSBERG’s Tank Gauging, Loading and Stability Systems onboard sailing ships and in shipyards, as well as offer in-house technical support and remote service to customers and colleagues around the world. Within the Tank Gauging, Loading and Stability Systems product range, we have systems such as Cargo Monitoring and Control system, Sensor Reliability Application, Custody Transfer System and numerous sensor applications for monitoring of Cargo tanks.

Key accountabilities

  • Installation & commissioning of Kongsberg Maritimes Tank Gauging Loading and Stability Systems
  • Provide service & maintenance onboard vessels worldwide
  • Technical support and on-call/remote service
  • Engage in product innovation, development and sales support activities
  • Cover service activities in South East Asia and maintain good relationship with existing clients
  • Required to undertake ad-hoc duties which may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Electronics/Mechatronic/Instrumentation Automation: Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education
  • Must have excellent co-operative skills, good communication skills, result-oriented, self-motivated and the project-management skill
  • Relevant experience in the maritime industry, especially with onboard Automation and Cargo tank gauging systems
  • Experience with control systems and cargo monitoring is a plus
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Highly motivated for worldwide support activities (travelling is required)
  • Self-driven attitude to find solutions to problems
  • Passion and patience for handling customers – Service oriented
  • Contribute to a good and positive working environment
  • Act on own initiative, make things happen and accept responsibility for the results
