Job description

Main Objectives:

As the GF Service Engineer, you will take full ownership of calibrating, repairing, and maintaining the entire GF range of welding machines while serving as the lead instructor for all GF pipe‑welding courses, including on‑site jointing‑technology demonstrations and technical training. In addition, you will deliver comprehensive sales and service support—such as certification training—to the Sales team and external customers, and you will respond promptly and efficiently to all technical enquiries or service requests received by phone, email, or on‑site visits.

Main Task:

  • Repair, maintain and conduct regular checks to ensure in-house rental fleet are in operational condition. Responsible for service room upkeep, spares parts at optimal stocking quantity to ensuring quick turnaround times for all repair works.
  • Provide after sales service with commissioning, calibration, trouble shooting, servicing, of all welding machines documenting with respective service and customer visit reports. Including troubleshooting and answering technical enquiries via various media.
  • Perform in-house/on site solvent cementing, welding process and welding machines operation trainings to customers. Including follow up scheduled visits throughout the project duration to verify the welding procedures are properly followed during the actual installation. Documenting visits including calibration/repair documentation reports for the customer.
  • Establish scheduled contacts with customers for calibration services for welding machines building up documentation and data base records of customers. Recommending required upgrades and replacements.
  • Work closely with sales team identifying service / replacement / upgrade needs during on site customer visits and supporting exhibitions, seminars, trainings and customer presentations on demand.

Job Requirement, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum Nitec in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Technical experience: At least one year diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic equipment in a comparable role, with solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical components and the ability to read related drawings.
  • Troubleshooting & customer support: Proven skill in fault‑finding, resolving customer concerns, and servicing machinery on‑site.
  • Training & communication: Experience delivering technical or instructional training to groups, complemented by strong spoken and written English.
  • Professional qualities: Reliable, accountable, and able to take full ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Certifications: BCSS (Building Construction Safety Supervisor) certificate is an advantage.
