Job description

XCL World Academy is seeking to recruit a Service Engineer.

This position will assist the Facilities Manager with the operations and smooth running of daily school operations and taking ownership of the facilities and the properties assigned. Responsible to provide comprehensive facilities management services for the identified sites in support of school business needs and goals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of direct and indirect reportees from vendor manpower supply who provides various services and ensuring that they are motivated and work as a team for desired results.

  • Ensure all safety procedures, including Crisis Management, Business Continuity and Emergency Procedures aremaintained at all times at site.

  • Own and supervise any maintenance / expansion project works related to Infrastructure and M&E.

  • Ensure that all facility management functions reporting to the role are properly managed and giving the best results to ensure that they meet business requirements.

  • Responsible for Risk management issues and legal &compliance matters.

  • Manage all technical and service contracts and tender documentations, develop and implement procedures andperformance measures to ensure efficiency, accuracy and reliability of work methods and systems.

  • Identify areas of potential cost saving measures (Including utility consumption) and drive cost saving measures.

  • Verifying Industry benchmarks on cost / service and establish a standard for the school to follow.

  • Implement M&E 52-week preventive maintenance plan and provide smooth delivery of all soft services.

  • Reporting on a month-on-month basis on various parameters (Operational efficiency, achievements, and failures) of each function / vertical reporting to the position.

  • Ensure that the best practice in the industry is followed in all the reporting functions and continuous improvement in service delivery is available.

  • Device feedback mechanisms to measure the service levels of the various services offered are continuously monitored and improved.

  • Prepare and manage within the Annual operational and Capex budget.

Position Requirement:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or in Facilities Management & relevant work experience.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a school environment.

  • Must have prior experience in some form of vendor’s management such as FM, security, pest control, etc, either managing or being a service vendor.

  • Knowledge of Computer Room Air-conditioning (CRAC), Chiller system, Fire Protection System, Electrical system, Security System and BMS system.

  • Project Management knowledge for handling minor projects.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

  • Good personal etiquette and need to have a high level of customer service mindset and ability to interact with the parent community with regards to day-to-day operational issues.

  • Willing to get-hands-dirty and walk to ground to understand the root cause of problems.

  • Resourceful and able to seek alternative solutions to problems when occurs.

  • Able to look at the bigger picture and strategize on the mid- and long-term plans for vendor management.

  • Able to multitask and handle competing priorities.

  • Attention to details with good follow up skills in ensuring issues are resolved on a timely manner.
