A leading company in aged care technology is looking for a SERVICE ENGINEER who will enhance their service department supporting strength training programs for seniors. This dynamic role involves diverse projects, technical support, and innovative product development in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates are experienced in mechanical and electronic engineering, passionate about hands-on work, and possess excellent communication skills.

Gym Tonic (www.gymtonic.sg) is a safe, evidence-based, and AI-backed strength training program designed for seniors. Our goal is to mainstream strength training for the elderly, helping them regain muscle strength, mobility, stability, agility, and balance. With more local and overseas sites adopting Gym Tonic, we are now looking for a hands-on and gung-ho SERVICE ENGINEER to strengthen our service department and better support the various Gym Tonic sites.
You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, constantly challenged to innovate, acquire new skills, and work on diverse projects. Because of the multi-faceted role and myriad of exposures, you will have ample opportunities to try new things, attend professional courses/ training and work directly with end-users such as wellness coaches, exercise therapists, physiotherapists and operations staff. The boundary to learning is only limited to the skills and potential of the individual.
Here are your primary duties:
Setup and commissioning of state-of-the-art hydraulic based strength training equipment and related measuring equipment (e.g. body composition analyzer, devices, kiosks and hardware).
Improve and strengthen technical/field support protocols and SOPs (e.g. escalation, documentation, maintenance schedule, etc.).
Provide technical support to customers (including overseas sites) including WhatsApp Business, onsite troubleshooting/ servicing of related equipment, devices and hardware.
Plan/Perform scheduled preventive maintenance program.
Work closely with our manufacturers, vendors and suppliers on technical, repair, maintenance and product matters.
Source for vendors for spare and alternative parts.
Support our instructors/trainers to train our customers on the usage and maintenance of equipment during commissioning and on-boarding, or other specialized training 101/102 courses.
Support in-house innovation lab equipment and hardware integration (e.g. IOT, sensor, camera, etc) and product development.
Evaluate and test new products and equipment, involve in proof-of-concept, pilot and R&D projects.
Requirements
A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant/ practical experience.
At least 2-3 years of experience with knowledge of mechanical, electrical & electronics and able to understand schematic diagrams, mechanical drawings and engineering documents.
Someone with hands-on practical maintenance/ repair experience and love to create, experiment and improvise things.
Experience in with rehabilitation, medical, exercise, fitness or gym equipment will be an advantage.
Aspires to lead or be a pivotal member of a service/engineering team in the near future (as we are growing the team).
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Willing to do light travelling (at times at short notice)
Note: This job does not require 24x7 standby or work over weekends or weeknights (unless in exigent situations).
