Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Sensory Panel Lead to manage and drive sensory evaluation processes for a research and development team. This leadership role is critical in delivering accurate sensory insights to support innovation and product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and Manage Sensory Team Operations

• Oversee a team of Panel Leaders and Technicians (team size: 4)
• Ensure timely, accurate, and consistent sensory evaluations
• Translate sensory data into actionable recommendations for product development
• Manage team workflows, performance goals, and foster a culture of collaboration
• Develop strategies to maintain high panel attendance and engagement
• Establish standard operating routines and lead continuous improvement efforts
• Ensure full compliance with internal and external quality standards

2. Enable Competency of Sensory Panels

• Design and implement training programs to improve panelist skills and sensory literacy
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and feedback sessions
• Maintain a robust back-up system for sensory panel continuity

3. Optimize Resource Utilization

• Resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure optimal staffing for evaluations
• Conduct workload analysis and introduce process efficiencies

4. Stakeholder Networking and Technical Expertise

• Collaborate across R&D teams and locations on sensory methodology
• Stay current with advancements in sensory science and implement new techniques where appropriate
• Provide technical expertise to support innovation and knowledge sharing

Requirements:

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline (scientific/statistical background required)
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sensory evaluation, preferably in FMCG or R&D settings
• Demonstrated experience managing people or leading cross-functional teams
