THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, which lives by the mission - To Serve Mankind - to help anyone who needs help regardless of their race, religion, colour, language, creed and culture. THKMC today serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five Services, which include Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors' Community, and Therapy.



DESIGNATION : Senior/Workshop Instructor - Baking

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Workshop Instructor plays a crucial role in a multidisciplinary vocational rehabilitation team to empower people with disabilities to participate in work activities to gain a sense of identity, improve self-esteem, and a way to give back to society. You will work closely with the occupational therapist, social worker, caregivers and community partners as part of the multidisciplinary team. You will develop the procedures and processes for the delivery of programmes, intervention methods and teaching practices. Your challenge is to implement innovative strategies to help people with disabilities to integrate in the workforce, do well at their jobs and progress in their careers.

Client Management

  • Facilitate a training program to equip clients with prevocational and vocational skills
  • Work with clients and families to facilitate job placement for a successful job tenure
  • Do job site visits to provide job support for clients to meet employer's expectation and manage employer-employee relations
  • Do job site visits to provide on the job skills training/ supervision and promote acceptable work behaviour
  • Work with allied healthcare professionals to implement intervention
  • Conduct and document clients' assessment in an accurate and timely manner
  • Document clients' progress in an accurate and timely manner
  • Coordinate and work with partnering agencies on client's attendance, motivational and behavioural management, etc

Programme Development - Baking

  • Develop training materials by providing domain knowledge in industry sectors such as Environmental Services, Food Service, etc
  • Do research and production of lesson plans, presentation slides and training materials
  • Align the vocational curriculum to the Skills Framework, incorporating sensory integration to meet the diverse needs of clients and requirements of industrial standards
  • Initiate programme improvement plans
  • Other duties as assigned

Administration & Operation

  • Routine admin duties such as preparation for audits and inventory management, etc


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Higher NITEC
  • Any related Certificate in Baking, Pastry or Culinary
