Job summary

A leading company in workplace safety in Singapore is seeking a Senior Workplace Safety and Health Officer. In this role, you will support the Safety Manager in mentoring new personnel, ensuring compliance with safety policies, and driving safety initiatives across project sites. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience as a registered WSHO, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with safety legislation and technological tools.

Qualifications

  • Have been practicing as a WSHO for at least 3 years.
  • Familiar with WSH legislation (e.g. WSH Act, Fire Safety Act).
  • Involved with technological implementation in safety applications.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Senior WSHPs is expected to support Safety Manager in providing mentorship and onboarding new personnel, familiarising them with safety policies, requirements, initiatives and operational procedures.
  • Plan visits to assigned project sites according to a proposed monthly schedule, ensuring compliance with the required frequency of visits for each assigned project.
  • Support Project Manager by identifying lapses in site conditions, safety systems and documentation, and collaborate with contractors to implement necessary rectifications.
  • Provide timely feedback on site conditions through inspection reports
  • Engage, review existing safety measures, and share best practices during site visits to enhance overall safety outcomes.
  • Recommend appropriate penalties and enforcement framework and follow up with Project Manager
  • Upload of documents (e.g. inspection reports, incident investigation summary report, photos, etc) Support assigned project in carrying out safety improvements trials when required.
  • Driving implementation of safety initiatives in assigned project sites to promote open reporting.
  • Supporting in resolving safety related issues, Support in providing constructive feedback & improve safety site outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Currently a Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO and have been practicing as a WSHO, equivalent or higher for at least 3 years.
  • Familiar with Workplace Safety and Health related legislation and its subsidiary legislation (e.g. WSH Act, Fire Safety Act and EPMA).
  • Possess effective communication skills to manage stakeholders and cascade information, report writing and computer skills (e.g. Words, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Involved with technological implementation or familiar with use of technologies (e.g. ePTW system, video analytics, data analytics, use of drone) and prior experience in WSH video surveillance and analysis of site video footages for safety surveillance will be preferred.
