About the Department

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is responsible for ensuring the Group complies with regulatory obligations in a dynamic landscape. This involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and assess regulatory risks, developing practical solutions to embed regulations into operational processes, and promoting a strong compliance culture and literacy within the bank.

Job Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive AML / Sanctions analytics strategy to identify, assess, and mitigate financial crime risks across the organization.
  • Lead and integrate the design and operation of detection models, rules, algorithms, and dashboards to enhance the bank's AML / Sanctions prevention capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with model end-users and key stakeholders (e.g., Head of AFC Analytics, Business Analysts, Data Engineers) to identify additional analytics needs and incorporate new models into the development pipeline.
  • Create model narratives detailing purpose, logic, parameters, data requirements, and output structuring in collaboration with business and relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage end-to-end AFC model development, including data wrangling, exploratory analysis, feature selection, model training, testing, and validation, working with Data Scientists and Business Analysts.
  • Build various models (rule-based, supervised, unsupervised) using structured, semi-structured, or unstructured data as required.
Job Requirements

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or related fields; a Master's degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • At least 12 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a minimum of 8 years in AML / Sanctions analytics or risk management roles.
  • Proven track record in developing and deploying large-scale AML / Sanctions analytics strategies and solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Model Governance principles throughout the development cycle.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience leading large projects and establishing new operating models.
  • Deep knowledge of financial regulations, industry best practices, and emerging AML / Sanctions trends.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, or Network Link Analysis.
  • Experience with big data tools and frameworks like Hive, Spark, and Impala.
  • Experience with Big Data architecture and automation software tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-unit collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
