Job summary

QUESS ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage storage, VMware virtualization, and backup environments. The role emphasizes capacity planning, performance optimization, and disaster recovery planning with SRM or Azure Site Recovery.

You will configure SAN/NAS provisioning, monitor health and performance, and ensure data integrity through rigorous backups and DR testing. Collaboration across server, network, and security teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in IT infrastructure with strong VMware, storage and DR experience.
• Hands-on SAN/NAS storage provisioning, capacity management, datastore expansion, and performance troubleshooting.
• VMware ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN administration including VM operations and cluster management.
• Experience with enterprise backup platforms: Veeam, Commvault, or Veritas NetBackup.
• Disaster Recovery knowledge with SRM or Azure Site Recovery and replication testing.
• Experience with iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and virtualized storage dependencies.
• Strong incident management, root-cause analysis, and change management skills.
• PowerShell/PowerCLI or Python scripting for automation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Administer enterprise storage environments (SAN/NAS) including provisioning, capacity expansion, and connectivity management.
• Manage VMware virtualization infrastructure: ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, VM provisioning, resource allocation.
• Configure and maintain storage connectivity using iSCSI and Fibre Channel.
• Monitor storage utilization, datastore capacity, health, and performance to prevent bottlenecks.
• Manage backup solutions: scheduling, policy configuration, monitoring, retention, and restoration.
• Troubleshoot backup failures and validate data integrity; perform DR tests to ensure availability.
• Implement and maintain DR solutions with SRM or Azure Site Recovery; conduct failover/failback testing.
• Perform VM migrations, snapshots, cluster maintenance, patching, upgrades; troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with server, network, app, and security teams to resolve cross-functional infra issues.
• Maintain documentation: configurations, backups, DR plans, runbooks, incidents.
• Monitor capacity and reliability; propose improvements for efficiency.
