Job summary

Duke-NUS Medical School’s Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases seeks a Research Assistant (Senior) to anchor operations in the Coronavirus Lab. The role is designed for a dedicated professional aiming for a long‑term home in high‑impact virology research.

You will oversee day‑to‑day lab operations, manage inventory and procurement, ensure safety and compliance, and mentor junior staff while contributing to experiments involving organoids, CRISPR/Cas9, and single‑cell

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences or related fields.
• At least 2 years of professional research lab management experience.
• Hands-on experience in BSL-2 techniques (cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry).
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to work independently and in a team.
• Long-term commitment to a stable, long-term role in virology lab.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day lab operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
• Manage inventory and traceability of samples and stocks.
• Handle procurement and logistics for reagents and equipment.
• Champion safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare reagents and buffers; maintain organized lab environment.
• Provide hands-on support for experiments including molecular cloning, protein analysis, histology.
• Supervise and train junior researchers in best practices.
• Manage virus stock production and quantification pipelines.
• Perform other duties incidental to the role.
