Job summary

CraveFX is seeking a Senior VFX Artist with hands-on experience in AI-powered video generation and AI-assisted production workflows. This role blends traditional VFX craft with generative AI pipelines (text-to-video, upscaling, style transfer, and more).

You’ll work with Adobe Creative Suite and 3D software (Blender, Maya, C4D) while prompting and fine-tuning AI models, shaping what AI-native VFX looks like for our studio.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in VFX, motion graphics, animation, or related role.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for compositing, motion graphics, and VFX.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Maya (3D modelling, animation, basic rendering).
• Solid VFX pipeline knowledge: rotoscoping, camera tracking/match moving, keying, and clean plate work.
• Experience supervising on-set VFX during shoots is a plus.
• Practical experience using AI video/image generation tools (Seedance, Higgsfield, Runway, etc.).
• Strong prompt engineering for visual/video generation and integration with live-action/CG.

Responsibilities

• Handle VFX projects from concept through final delivery, including simulations, particles, destruction and cloth, plus compositing.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve shot composition and iteration speed alongside traditional VFX techniques.
• Interpret briefs from directors/clients and translate into technically sound shots.
• Provide onsite VFX supervision during shoots to ensure on-site requirements are captured.
• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline, simulation, and render issues.
• Mentor junior/mid-level VFX artists with technical and creative guidance.
• Participate in dailies and feedback sessions, incorporating notes efficiently.
• Stay current with industry software/techniques and suggest pipeline improvements.
• Lead or support AI-driven workflow implementations and train others.
• Maintain organized project files per studio standards.
• Learn, evaluate, and apply AI-assisted tools for quality and turnaround gains.

Hi! CraveFX is looking for a Senior VFX Artist with hands‑on experience in AI‑powered video generation and AI‑assisted production workflows to join our creative team. This role sits at the intersection of traditional VFX craft and emerging generative AI tools - you’ll help us push visual storytelling forward by blending classic compositing/animation skills with cutting‑edge AI pipelines (text-to-video, image-to-video, AI upscaling, style transfer, generative asset creation, and more).

This is a great fit for someone who is equally comfortable in Adobe Creative Suites and 3D software like Blender, Maya, C4D as they are prompting and fine‑tuning AI models, and who’s excited to help define what "AI‑native VFX" looks like for our studio.

Job Scope

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Handle VFX projects from concept through final delivery including effects creation (simulations, particles, destruction, cloth, etc.), compositing, integration with live‑action or CG plates, and final polish ensuring consistency with the overall visual style.
• Use AI‑assisted tools (e.g., Higgsfield, Seedance, Nanobanana) to improve shot composition, speed up iteration, and increase efficiency, alongside traditional VFX/compositing technique.
• Interpret briefs from department leads, directors, or clients and translate them into technically sound, visually compelling shots.
• Provide onsite VFX supervision during shoots/production as needed, ensuring effects requirements are captured correctly at the source.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in pipelines, simulations, and renders.
• Mentor and provide technical/creative guidance to junior and mid‑level VFX artists.
• Participate in dailies, reviews, and feedback sessions, incorporating notes efficiently.
• Stay current with industry software, techniques, and tools, and recommend pipeline improvements where relevant.
• Uphold confidentiality regarding unreleased projects, client materials, and proprietary tools.
• Support research and development initiatives within the VFX department.
• Lead or support the implementation of AI‑driven workflows across the department, including piloting new tools, documenting best practices, and training other artists on their use.
• Maintain organised, well‑documented project files in line with studio pipeline standards.
• Learn, evaluate, and apply AI‑assisted tools and workflows (e.g., generative fill, roto/tracking assist, upscaling, AI‑driven simulation or comp tools) to improve shot quality and turnaround.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in VFX, motion graphics, animation, or a related creative production role.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites (compositing, motion graphics, VFX).
• Proficiency in Autodesk Maya (3D modelling, animation, basic rendering).
• Solid grounding in core VFX pipeline skills, including: Rotoscoping and matte/garbage‑matte creation, Camera tracking / match moving (2D and 3D), Keying (green/blue screen) and clean plate work, Basic colour matching/grading for shot integration.
• Experience with on‑set/on‑site VFX supervision — comfortable advising production on tracking markers, clean plates, reference balls/grey cards, and green/blue screen setup.
• Practical, portfolio‑backed experience using AI video/image generation tools (e.g., Seedance 2.0, Higgsfield, Nano Banana, Google Veo, Runway Gen‑3/4, Pika, Kling, OpenAI Sora, Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, Midjourney).
• Solid understanding of prompt engineering for visual/video generation (framing, camera language, style/consistency control).
• Experience integrating AI‑generated elements with live‑action or CG plates (tracking, colour matching, roto/keying).
• Basic scripting/automation skills (Python, or node‑based tools like ComfyUI) a plus.
• Knowledge in Blender, Houdini & C4D is a plus.
• A demo reel showcasing both traditional VFX work and AI‑assisted work.
