Job summary

mount pleasant veterinary group pte. ltd. is seeking a Veterinary Technician or Nurse registered with professional associations. The role requires at least five years in anesthesia, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, ECC, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, or surgery, with preferred team management experience.

You will be a key part of the veterinary team, ensuring safety, client communication, and high-quality pet care across hospital services.

Qualifications

• Degree, Diploma or certification in veterinary technology/nursing relevant studies.
• Minimal 5 years of work experience in anesthesia/cardiology/diagnostic imaging/ECC/internal medicine/oncology/ophthalmology/radiology or surgery.
• 3 years of team management experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and concise communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the veterinary team to maintain high-quality pet care.
• Be the extra eyes, ears, and hands for veterinarians to maximize productivity.
• Coordinate communications with veterinarians and medical team to maintain patient flow.
• Provide professional, efficient service; prepare for procedures and monitor hospitalized pets.
• Obtain client histories to maintain complete medical charts.
• Ensure safety and sterile handling in treatment areas; educate clients on preventive care.
• Assist with surgery as applicable and use technical skills within credentialed scope.

Are you a Veterinary Technician or Nurse who has registration with professional veterinary associations (American/ Australian/ British/ Canadian) with work experience in a specialist referral hospital/ advanced or general practice?

• Degree, Diploma or certification (American/ Australian/ British/ Canadian) in veterinary technology/ nursing relevant studies.
• Minimal 5 years of work experience in anesthesia/ cardiology/ diagnostic imaging/ ECC/ internal medicine/ oncology / ophthalmology/ radiology or surgery.
• 3 years prior team management experience preferred.
• A team player with excellent interpersonal and concise communication skills.

Work scope:

• Be the extra eyes, ears and hands for the veterinarian to ensure the best quality pet care and to maximize the veterinarian’s productivity.
• Lead communications with veterinarians and veterinary medical team to maintain the flow of pets.
• Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times. This includes performing procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance, completing preparatory work for other procedures, ensuring that clients and pets are comfortable in the hospital, and monitoring hospitalized or surgical pets.
• Obtain relevant information and history from clients to maintain proper and complete medical charts.
• Ensure the safety of pets, clients and associates by utilizing safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols while maintaining clean, sterile and organized treatment areas, exams rooms and labs.
• Educate clients about preventive care, pet health needs, any diagnosis or treatment, hospital services and other related matters.
• Assist with surgery as applicable.
• Utilize technical skills to the fullest, within mandated regulations regarding duties of credential veterinary technicians.
