Job summary

HCL SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Linux/Unix System Administrator to manage patching, vulnerability management, and system operations. You will handle BIOS/firmware upgrades, log monitoring, and ensure SLA adherence across multiple OS environments.

The role requires 10–12 years of hands-on experience in Linux/Unix administration, strong communication, and the ability to work in a team-oriented, ever-changing setting with weekend/on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 10–12 years of Linux/Unix system administration experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a SLA-driven environment.
• Willingness to work weekends per roster and on-call support when needed.
• Hands-on with RHEL/HP-UX/Solaris/AIX servers.
• Experience with patch and vulnerability management.
• Troubleshooting OS and hardware issues.
• Knowledge of RAID technologies (basic) and clustering basics.
• Familiarity with server management tools.

Responsibilities

• Patching and vulnerability management for Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Solaris VM, and IBM VIO.
• System administration of Linux/Unix environment.
• Patch assessment and deployment planning.
• BIOS and firmware upgrades.
• Log monitoring and maintenance.
