About Us
LawNet Technology Services (LTS) is the technology company behind LawNet, Singapore’s leading portal for legal research, information and transactions. An indispensable tool for the legal community since 1990, LawNet is subscribed by a majority of Singapore lawyers and is also accessible by anyone outside the profession. Users can conduct research on Singapore primary legal materials (Singapore Law Reports, unreported judgments and legislation) and secondary materials (such as Parliamentary reports, legal news, textbooks and journals). LawNet continues to enhance its services and content while maintaining its affordable and highly competitive subscription rates, making it an essential resource for the legal community.
LTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL), a promotion and development agency for Singapore’s legal industry. In addition to running LawNet, LTS manages the technology driving SAL’s support services for Singapore’s legal industry and statutory functions such as stakeholding services and appointment of Senior Counsel, Commissioners for Oaths and Notaries Public.
Led by a Board of Directors who understands both the capabilities of technology and the needs of the legal profession, LTS continues to develop bold and innovative products and services that will better serve the needs of the legal community.
Reporting Structure
The Senior UI/UX Designer will report to the Deputy Director (Product Management) of LTS.
Responsibilities
- Provide best practices and knowledge in the creative and design field, i.e. Experience Design, Service Design, DesignOps, Usability Testing, User Interviews, Design Sprints and Workshops, etc.
- Stay abreast of state-of-the-art and emerging digital design tools and trends, and how new technologies impact these trends.
- Systems thinking, the ability to structure and iterate abstract ideas into practical, logical and scalable solutions that are aligned with the overall Experience Strategy.
- Contribute your ideas and your deep insights into human behaviour, experience design, usability, digital product, etc. and can guide stakeholders in adopting a scalable approach for enterprises.
- Lead the design process for SAL’s products (mobile and web).
- Provide design thought leadership and contributions to complement the product strategy by identifying new opportunities, generating innovative solutions, and improving existing features.
- Design products systematically and conduct data-driven evaluation of designs both qualitatively and quantitatively.
- Maintain and define the visual and UX patterns for our products to cultivate a consistent and intuitive experience.
- Develop clear and effective user interfaces to achieve both product and business objectives.
- Lead end user feedback engagements through online and offline channels for user interviews and usability testing.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a design-related discipline. (Industrial design, human-computer interaction (HCI), interaction design, design research, computer science (User Experience), product design or a related field).
- Minimum 4 years' experience in designing for B2B and B2C web / mobile software products.
- Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in offline user feedback and interview initiatives
- Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design.
- Experience in eCommerce, SaaS, publishing and/or legal industry is a strong plus.
- Solid design philosophy, deep understanding and practical experience in user experience design and related fields.
- Strong ability to grasp product vision and communicate design expectations clearly and regularly to team members.
- Ability to defend a design proposal using data and thought leadership.
- Demonstrate a track record of delivering effective design in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in various interactive and visual design software tools (Figma, Miro).
- Proficiency in typography, sketching, composition, layout, colour, iconography, illustration, and the presentation of information is a plus.
- Consultative mindset and thorough understanding of Asian markets/industries, brands, consumers and trends.
- Practical experience in agile delivery, including running cross-functional squads, overseeing the creation of new design direction and/or development and implementation of digital products and services.
- Ability to thrive in a highly agile and iterative environment and translate business concepts into journeys, screen flows and interactions.
