RESPONSIBILITIES

Programme Management & Development

  • Ensures the Centre programme adheres to all requirements pertaining to trainees' assessment/evaluation, individualized training plans and motivational and behavioral management for trainees.
  • Constantly seeks the best practice approaches in training, intervention and management methodology and techniques to be innovative in programme delivery.
  • Seeks to constantly involve caregiver engagement in the programmes and provides an open feedback avenue through programmes like CSI and CLR sessions.
  • Ensures best practices in the management of trainees are carried out in terms of being consistent and timely, age-appropriate, person-centric and embrace human life-cycle approaches in programme planning.
  • Facilitates and supports the Units in case conferences and reviews, establishing a team approach with Training Officers (TOs), Allied Health Professionals (AHP) and Caregivers in all case management processes.
  • Constantly explores and shares new training methodology and introduce innovative techniques to the Centre
  • Documents and reports matter concerning trainees' health, safety and security.

Staff Management & Development

  • Ensures sufficient and efficient manpower plans and allocations are in place at all times for service and operational exigency and stands in to cover TOs' duties as and when required.
  • Provides supervision, support and mentorship for TOs.
  • Orientates, facilitates, guides and mentors new staff in executing their roles and responsibilities of TOs.
  • Builds good TOs teams and nurtures collaborative working environment to achieve the collective outcomes of the Centre Programmes.
  • Monitors and ensures TOs carry out all planned programmes and activities.
  • Monitors and audits TOs strictly adhering to the centre guidelines and protocols.
  • Conducts regular team meetings to disseminate information and encourage sharing of best practice in trainee management.
  • Identifies training programmes/courses for TOs to be equipped with relevant skills to manage assigned projects and develop training programmes for trainees.
  • Gives regular feedbacks, monitors staff performance and conducts the TO's annual performance reviews.

Event, Activities and Volunteer Management

  • Oversees plans for internal and external events and activities organized for trainees' development and social integration.
  • Engages community resources to foster trainees' independence in the community and increase public awareness of persons with special needs thus promoting inclusion in the Community.
  • Promotes Volunteer engagement events and activities, monitors and evaluates such volunteer involvement programmes.

Business Unit Operations

  • Actively manages and monitors the Centre's Social Enterprise Units and contract work assignments for the trainees' work engagement, employment programmes.
  • Works closely with the Social Enterprise Team to develop potential new products and services for Social Enterprise Units and explore new work assignments with stakeholders.
  • Studies new work assignments, redesigns and plans work process flow in collaboration with Occupational Therapist to enable work to be completed efficiently by the EDC trainees.
  • Assigns and allocates staff and trainees for the new work assignments.

Administrative & Operations

  • Tracks and compiles all training, case management and other operational documentations and reports for accountability and reporting to Management and Funding Bodies eg. ITPs, Muster etc.
  • Prepare reports on the trainees' programme outcomes, incidences and others as required.
  • Assists in purchase requisition for areas concerning trainees' programmes and activities.
  • Ensures that facilities and spaces for trainees are safe and conducive and reports accordingly on areas of concern to Centre Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma/Degree in any relevant discipline e.g. Special Education, Disability Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy.
OTHER INFORMATION
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in managing a small team (10 staff) would be an advantage.
