Job summary

Job description

Based at the Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore, you will represent Switzerland's official export and investment promotion organisation Switzerland Global Enterprise and its regional office, the Swiss Business Hub Southeast Asia and Pacific (SBH SEA +P) in Singapore. In this role, you will actively support Swiss and Liechtenstein companies in their successful entry into Singaporean market, contribute to selected Location/Investment Promotion activities, and ensure the efficient administrative functioning of the Hub. You will work toward reaching and delivering the agreed-upon KPI targets, achieving high customer satisfaction, and strengthening the image of Switzerland as an attractive destination for outbound FDI. This is a temporary role for up to 12 months, to cover the absence of the main post holder. Start date: immediate.

Your Tasks
  • Implement the Switzerland Global Enterprise strategies for Export Promotion Switzerland, and to some extent promote investments into Switzerland.
  • Represent the Swiss Business Hub SEA+P in Singapore in promoting Swiss exports and expanding the network of contacts with the business community, S-GE Experts/Certified Experts and other institutions and organizations; contact management.
  • Gather Singaporean market intelligence: identify and evaluate market opportunities for Swiss and Liechtenstein companies, including compilation of industry reports, planning and executing Swiss Pavilions at major trade shows.
  • Counsel representatives of Swiss companies seeking advice for doing business in Singapore.
  • Provide the administrative support to the Swiss Business Hub SEA +P in Singapore.
  • Additional tasks as conferred and deemed necessary according to requirements of Head of Swiss Business Hub SEA + P.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, trade and business associations and industry groups etc.
Your Profile
  • You have a higher education in economy, foreign trade and/or international business, or equivalent work experience.
  • You have 5-10 years professional experience in trade and investment promotion, and/ or export promotion consulting. Additional experience in the private sector is a plus.
  • You have strong knowledge of both Singaporean and Swiss markets and business cultures, including key industry players, technical trends, and sector developments.
  • You have demonstrable experience in managing multi-stakeholder networks, including clients and local authorities, political sensibility and experience in dealing with official/government authorities.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, you adapt well in multicultural and dynamic environments and feel comfortable interacting with different hierarchical levels in an international setup.
  • You are an outgoing, service-oriented and flexible person, who strives to create synergies and win-win solutions.
  • You have an excellent command of spoken and written English, German, and Swiss German, along with an active understanding of at least one additional Swiss national language (French or Italian).
  • You are comfortable using Microsoft Office and IT reporting tool.
