Job summary

PayPal is seeking a forward‑thinking Detection Engineer to join our Threat Detection team within Security Operations in Singapore. This role focuses on building high‑fidelity, scalable detections that reduce risk across enterprise, cloud, and product environments.

You will partner with Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Product Security, and Platform teams to design detection strategies, own the lifecycle, and improve our defensive posture. Hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in cybersecurity related to detection engineering or security automation.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and tune high-fidelity detections across SIEM, EDR, and cloud security platforms.
• Correlate telemetry from diverse sources to identify multi-stage attacks.
• Own the end-to-end detection lifecycle from hypothesis to deployment and validation.
• Develop SOAR playbooks to automate responses and reduce manual work.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify anomalous behaviors.
